On Sept. 19, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis will host a preview of the Indy Chamber’s upcoming economic development initiative with a speech by the Brookings Institution’s Amy Liu. The event will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Eskenazi Fine Arts Center at 1410 Indiana Ave.
Liu, who serves as vice president and director of the Brookings Metropolitan Policy program, will discuss the importance of “Remaking Economic Development” as the Indy Chamber prepares for a strategic/investment campaign titled “Accelerate Indy: Fueling the Metro Economy.”
The initiative stems from a two-year relationship with the Brookings Institution to develop an export and foreign direct investment strategy for the Indianapolis metro area. Along with global trade and investment, other areas of focus include mass transit, anchor institutions, regional entrepreneurship and talent attraction.
Registration is available but space is limited for this free event
