Less than 48 hours from now, leaders in industry, higher education, government and workforce development will gather at IUPUI to address one of Indiana’s most pressing economic issues during the second annual E2E Convergence event.
Convened by Innovate Indiana with support from Lilly Endowment Inc., E2E Convergence is focused on increasing and enhancing job-related experiences for Indiana college students so they are better prepared for their careers upon graduation. A vital area for improvement is increased technical training and orientation, as more and more of Indiana’s top employers require technically trained workers.
- WHAT: Education to Employment Convergence
- WHEN: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- WHERE: IUPUI Campus Center, Room 450, 420 University Blvd., Indianapolis
Last year’s event brought together about 150 representatives from 22 colleges and universities to collaborate with business and government leaders on workforce development. This year’s event seeks to advance those efforts, as many of Indiana’s key industries have a greater demand for technically skilled workers than are being produced by Indiana’s institutions of higher learning.
The event’s keynote speaker will be former Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann, who is vice chair of the Indiana Career Council. For more information, read Tuesday’s news release about the upcoming event, visit the E2E Convergence website and follow the conversation on Twitter.
