A well-known advocate of technology entrepreneurs throughout Indianapolis will be remembered at TechPoint’s annual Mira Awards ceremony Saturday at The Westin Hotel by being named Community Champion of the Year.
Denver Hutt, a California native and Indiana University graduate, died in January at age 28 after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She is the first person to receive the Mira Awards honor, which recognizes persons who have championed the advancement of Indiana’s technology community.
“Community champions go above and beyond to support, promote, and advance Indiana’s tech community,” TechPoint CEO Mike Langellier told Inside Indiana Business. “They project a passion for the community, help to drive it forward and inspire others to do the same. Denver was all of these things and more.”
For three years, Hutt served as executive director of the Speakeasy, a popular coworking space in Broad Ripple. She later became economic and community development liaison for the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors.
