This week marks the third annual Entrepreneurship Academy at New Albany, where business leaders and industry experts will mentor 25 to 30 high school students on transforming ideas to start a business into a workable model.
A collaborative effort between the IU Southeast School of Business, Purdue Polytechnic Institute and Purdue Research Park of Southeast Indiana, the week-long program involves students nominated by a high school math or science teacher or their high school counselor.
Throughout the week, students will be divided into five teams to develop a business plan and on Friday, compete in a “Shark Tank” style presentation before a panel of judges. The winning team will earn $2,500 in tuition vouchers divided among the students that are accepted at IU Southeast and all Purdue campuses.
