Subir Bandyopadhyay is getting quite a bit of attention these days.
Along with his upcoming recognition as Small Business Advocate of the Year by the Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center, the marketing professor at Indiana University Northwest recently was featured in a Yahoo Small Business Advisor article that looked at how innovation by small companies can create big brands.
“There are many cost-effective ways for small companies to brand themselves,” Bandyopadhyay told article author Mark Taylor. “Small businesses must identify and target their customers: are they end-users of their products or services, or do they serve other businesses? They must identify what their customers are seeking.”
Other northwest Indiana businesspeople appear in the article as well. They include Lorri Feldt, regional director of the Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center; Carmella Saraceno, a Chicago entrepreneur who operates Miller Beach Market Place in Gary; and Jorge Benavente, an optometrist who practices in Munster, Ind., and Country Club Hills, Ill.
