The Office of the Vice President for Engagement was pleased to have the opportunity to recently host the State of Indiana’s two leading economic development officials on the IU Bloomington campus. Indiana Secretary of Commerce Victor Smith and Indiana Economic Development Corporation President Eric Doden visited the IU Technology Park and toured the start-of-the-art Cyberinfrastructure Building and IU Data Center, home of the university’s new Big Red II supercomputer.
During the visit, IU Vice President for Engagement Bill Stephan provided an overview of the university’s Innovate Indiana initiative and its wide range of activities collectively fostering economic development and technology commercialization. The presentation led into a productive discussion among the leaders on how IU and the State of Indiana can continue to partner through new collaborations to channel the university’s vast resources and expertise for benefit of the Hoosier economy.
