This final weekend of October is a busy one for our faculty and students.
On Friday Oct. 28, the Rob Kling Center for Social Informatics Colloquium Series is presenting a talk by Dr. Mikihito Tanaka, followed by a reception in the Rob Kling Center.
The 81st meeting of the Music Library Association Midwest Chapter will be held here at IU from Thursday, Oct. 27 through Saturday, Oct. 29, with involvement from many of our students, faculty, and IU Librarians.
2022 Music Library Association Annual Meeting
Several ILS faculty, researchers, and doctoral students will be attending and presenting at this year’s annual Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) conference in Pittsburgh from Oct. 29 – Nov. 1. The theme of this year’s conference is “Crisis, Transition, Resilience: Re-imagining an information resilient society.”
2022 ASIS&T Conference
To top it all off, the Wells Library is hosting the Open Access Week Symposium on Oct. 28. The symposium will highlight the experiences of IU authors and the various models of funding open access publications. Discussion will also focus on the limitations and challenges facing open access, as well as the implications of the recently released “Nelson Memo,” a memorandum from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy which greatly impacts researchers who receive federal funds.
Best of luck to everyone presenting this weekend!
