This class is constructed as a practice-focused course, with some theoretical components. The students will be introduced to each topic, followed by completing a variety of hands-on learning activities to understand each topic. The class time will be divided between instructor lectures, in-class hands on activities, and group critiques. For after-class assignments, students will be asked to conduct research and produce both 2D and 3D art, architecture, and design works related to each topic. The relationship between mathematics and art, architecture, and design is emphasized within each topic. As a result, students should form an understanding of how mathematics is an integral part of forms, themes, and structures used in art, architecture, and design.
