A rigorous introduction to vector calculus and calculus on manifolds. Topics covered include:
Differentiable transformations defined on Euclidean space, inverse and implicit function theorems. Lebesgue integration over Euclidean space and transformation of integrals. Exterior algebra, measure and integration on manifolds. Stokes’s theorem with application to classical divergence, Stokes and Green’s theorem. Closed and exact forms.
Emphasis is on proofs and understanding theory, though there will also be some computational problems.
