Undergraduate Research Opportunity at IUB in the Demas Lab
The Demas Lab is looking for motivated undergraduates to volunteer in the lab, effective immediately through Summer 2021. We strongly encourage applicants from historically underrepresented groups in STEM.
Position Description:
In the Demas lab we study interactions among the nervous, endocrine and immune systems, and behavior in a variety of ecologically-relevant environmental contexts using the Siberian hamster (Phodopus sungorus) as our model system. For this particular project, we are investigating the effects of probiotics and maternal antibiotic administration on offspring behavior and gut microbiome. We are seeking highly-motivated undergraduate students to volunteer as research assistants in our lab from March 2021 through July 2021.
Time commitment:
March – May: 4 hours between 11AM-5PM a day, 2days/week
May – June: 4-8hrs/week
July: TBD (possibly virtual)
