The Michaels lab has two openings for paid undergraduate research assistants (https://biology.indiana.edu/about/faculty/michaels-scott.html). Our laboratory studies gene regulation and epigenetics, primarily in the model plant Arabidopsis. Responsibilities will include utilizing techniques in molecular biology (e.g., electrophoresis, PCR, cloning), plant growth, and basic lab upkeep. We are looking for students that are interested in multi-semester research experiences; availability to work over the summer is a plus. Experience with molecular biology is preferred, but no previous experience with plants is required. If interested, please send a c.v., transcript (unofficial is fine), and a brief statement of your career goals to michaels@indiana.edu. Please also indicate when during a typical week you would be available for lab work (ideally, students should have 2 or more blocks of >2 hours per week).
