BACKGROUND: The Youth Environmental Leadership Summit or YELS is a program of the IPE – Integrated Program on the Environment. This summit will now be offered in spring and fall to Indiana High School Environmental Science AP classes. The students come for the day, with their teachers to ‘workshop’ a problem statement; below is a summary chart of the 7 Food and Agriculture submissions.
WHAT AND WHO ARE NEEDED: This is where the IU students come in!! For each one of these seven groups, we need one undergraduate or graduate student to help the high school groups workshop their problem using the Ostrom SES Framework. Using three rounds of brainstorming for biophysical/natural, policy, and social factors students will propose ways to study the problem from these angles.
WHEN and WHERE: Friday, October 25th, 2019, 11:30 am – 4:00 pm (I am getting clarification on critical times if you cannot make the entire afternoon).
Room 167, O’Neill School of Public & Environmental Affairs
