The Biophysical and Biochemistry Instrumentation Facility (PBIF) jointly with the Macromolecular Crystallography Facility (CAF) are seeking a highly talented and motivated undergraduate student preferably freshmen or sophomore to perform several tasks related to the daily functioning of both facilities such as: automated and manual dispensing of commercial screens, crystallography screenings, sample preparation and measurement, routine checking of instrumentation and general organization in both facilities. Students who aim to pursue either a PhD program or industry position after college are very encouraged to apply.
PBIF and CAF are located into Simon Hall building and they receive hundreds of users monthly. Both are equipped with state-of-art instrumentation facilitating research for many groups in Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry Departments. Experience in the instrumentation is not expected, however motivation and multi-tasks skills are very welcome. Also, some computational skills are preferred such as: Microsoft Office use and Dream Weaver experience. Working hours are completely flexible but a total of 10 hours per week are expected to perform satisfactorily the job. Salary is commensurate with experience.
