Group can be a VERY helpful form of therapy by allowing students who have similar concerns to come together, connect and explore new ways of coping. Check out the attached flier for more details about the groups, including days, times & cost. Make a CAPS Now appt. (812-855-5711) to talk to a counselor about joining or leave a message for our Group Coordinator for more info.
- Trans Support Group- a safe and supportive environment for transgender students to explore stressors as they pertain to issues of identity, transitioning, transphobia, relationships, and mental health.
- Healthy Relationships- an all-gender support group for students questioning the health of their relationships and/or recognizing patterns of power and control.
- Managing Emotions (3 types)- The goal of these groups is to help participants feel more balanced and in control of their lives.
- Healthy Connections- 4 options to fit your needs: undergraduate, graduate & returning students, men’s graduate & returning students, or women’s graduate & returning students.
- Nourish- This process-oriented therapy group is designed to explore eating disorder struggles while creating self-awareness of thoughts, feelings, and effectiveness in relationships.
- Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse- open to undergraduate and graduate students who are survivors of sexual assault, defined as any unwanted and nonconsensual sexual contact.
- Empowering Students of Color Support Group – a support group for students of color that will use a multicultural approach.

Empowering Students of Color Support Group
Time: Thursday, 9:30 am – 10:30 am – Location: CAPS (IU Health Center, 4th floor)
Description: this is a support/ therapy group for students of color that will use a multicultural approach. Topics covered in the group may include: navigating spaces as students of color, negotiating privilege(s), and addressing responses and emotional reactions triggered by experiences of discrimination and micro/macroaggressions. Additionally the group will be able to address interpersonal difficulties, academic stress, and other topics that will help student increase group participants sense of empowerment.

MINDFULNESS MEDITATION PRACTICE SESSIONS– FREE drop-in workshops at IU Health Center, 4th Floor!
Mondays and Tuesdays 10:00-10:45am & Wednesdays and Thursdays 2:00-2:45pm. Dr. Carolyn Lee will teach you various ways to practice “Mindfulness”, a research-based strategy to help reduce anxiety, improve concentration, regulate emotion, and much more! Bring a friend! (See attached flier)
