Christel DeHaan Family Foundation Visiting Artist Lecture
Robert L. Pincus served as the art critic of The San Diego Union and The San Diego Union-Tribune for 25 years, beginning in 1985. From 1981 to 1985, he was an art critic for the Los Angeles Times. He has won many journalism prizes for his art reviews and commentary, including the Chemical Bank award for distinguished newspaper art criticism. Robert has written regularly for magazines, including Art News, and Art in America, for three decades. He has taught in an adjunct capacity at the University of San Diego since 1998 and has also taught courses in art history, theory, criticism and literature at San Diego State University and the University of Southern California.
Pincus will be discussing the current state of art criticism and art journalism.
