Events organized by Robert F. Byrnes Russian and East European Institute
The Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University will host teach-in events March 1-3 on Russia’s attack on Ukraine featuring experts from Indiana University, the Hamilton Lugar School, and Ukraine. All events, organized by the Robert F. Byrnes Russian and East European Institute, will be held at the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies at 355 N. Eagleson Ave. Recordings will be made available following the events.
A panel discussion on Wednesday, March 2 will be held 5-7:00 p.m. in Shreve Auditorium at the Hamilton Lugar School and will also be live streamed to the Hamilton Lugar School Facebook page. Download poster with panelists (PDF)
Topics include the war in Ukraine and international law, Russian military strategy, Ukrainian civil society, Ukrainian culture and national identity, the history of Kievan’ Rus, the history of warfare in 20th Century Europe, the potential Ukrainian refugee crisis, contentious politics in contemporary Russia, Russian media ecology and war coverage, repercussions on US politics and public opinion, and much, much more.
Events are supported by the Department of International Studies, the Inner Asian and Uralic Resource Center, the Center for the Study of Global Change, and the Institute for European Studies.
