Included in the book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die and ranked #21 on Time Out‘s 100 Best Horror Movies of All Time list, Audition is one of the most notorious horror films ever made with its unforgettable femme fatale and a jaw-dropping ending that the Hollywood Reporter once said “makes Stephen King’s Misery look wholesome.” Praised by the likes of Variety, Slant Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, and filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, who called it a “true masterpiece if there ever was one,” the film was also the subject of an in-depth essay by the well-known scholar and critic Robin Wood. You can check out Audition this Friday, October 20, at IU Cinema on 35mm!
