Consisting of six short films directed by Indigenous filmmakers, the Sundance Indigenous Shorts program features titles from the 2022 Sundance Film Festival shorts line-up and from alumni of Sundance Institute’s Indigenous Program. This curated collection includes narrative and documentary films from the U.S., Mexico, and the Philippines, and gives audiences a taste of the talent, power, and creativity Indigenous filmmakers have to offer.
With films that interrogate and illustrate ideas of family, ancestry, traditions, community, and morality, the Sundance Indigenous Shorts are a remarkable example of the importance of Indigenous storytelling and representation. Join us in honoring Indigenous People’s Day with this stunning constellation of works on October 11 at IU Cinema!
The Sundance Indigenous Shorts program will be screened at IU Cinema on October 11 as part of the New Americas Cinema series.
