If you’ve heard anything about Titane since its release last year, you’ve probably heard it described as the movie where a woman has sex with a car. But Julia Ducournau’s Palme d’Or winner is infinitely more complex than that. It is also the kind of film that the less you know about it, the better your viewing experience will be. In that spirit, we won’t say much more about the movie — although, if you’re really dying to know more about Titane, check out writer/director Julia Ducournau’s fascinating interview with Vulture — but we will say this: take a chance and come see this slick, violent, oddly sweet, genre-defying shocker on our big screen this Friday!
“This year’s Palme d’Or winner is a symphony of disturbing and dark madness unlike anything you’ve ever seen — and I mean that in a good way.” — Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times
Titane will be screened at IU Cinema on January 21 at 10 pm as part of the Not-Quite Midnights series.
