duo526 Sonata Seminar @ IU offers an intensive five-day performance seminar to explore the art of listening for both pianists and violinists. Since 2018, duo526 Sonata Seminar has been offered at Brandon University, Canada; duo526 is thrilled to bring its program to IU’s Jacobs Academy. Up to five duos (five violinists and five pianists) will be selected via the application process. The daily schedule includes mentoring time, wellness time, individual coaching, training, and masterclasses. The program will culminate with the recital performance on the final day. Any pianists or violinists aged 18+ are eligible to apply.

Everyone must submit the following information as part of the application process.
Please Note: Regardless of your duo partner plans (pre-formed or not pre-formed), everyone should individually submit an application with the required audition materials.
Step 1, Personal Statement: Please write about your collaborative experience in a personal statement of approximately 500 words and answer the following questions:
- What are your long-term artistic goals?
- What do you hope to get out of duo526 Sonata Seminar @ IU?
- What has been your past experience in collaborative playing?
- And why do you value duo playing?
Step 2, Recordings: Please provide recording links to two contrasting movements or works from the standard repertoire.
Step 3, Repertoire List: Please write your list of sonata repertoire studied and performed.
