Electronic Resources and Discovery Librarian
The University of Tennessee at Martin, Paul Meek Library, seeks applications for a tenure-track colleague in the role of Electronic Resources and Discovery Librarian. Reporting to the Dean of the Paul Meek Library, the position provides leadership to implement and manage scholarly electronic resources at the University’s main campus in Martin, to its five regional centers across western Tennessee, and to the University’s expanding online programs. The Library serves a population of 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
The University of Tennessee at Martin is a primary campus in the University of Tennessee System. It is located in beautiful, rural Northwest Tennessee, approximately 120 miles north of Memphis and 150 miles west of Nashville. The University’s emphasis is rooted in excellence of undergraduate instruction. The faculty and staff provide a caring and nurturing campus environment for all students. Primary Assignment: Electronic Resources and Discovery
- Responsible for the management of the Library’s electronic resource management system and EBSCO Discovery Service discovery tool.
- Load, update, maintain, and withdraw electronic records using EBSCO Folio ILS, OCLC, and other vendors.
- Participate in collection development of electronic resources.
- Establish and maintain effective vendor relations and access to vendor administrative websites.
- Identify and resolve technical issues as they relate to electronic resources.
- Collect, maintain, and report on user statistics.
Other Duties
- Participate in aspects of the Library’s liaison program, including collection development, instruction, and research support.
- Participate in the Library’s general reference program. This includes both in-person and chat reference, and may include some evening and weekend shifts.
- Progress successfully along the promotion and tenure track, and participate fully as a member of the university faculty including serving on internal library and campus-wide faculty and related committees.
- Maintain awareness of trends and advances in the field by attending professional conferences, workshops, meetings, and other events.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree from ALA-accredited library program (or equivalent degree and experience).
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working with library acquisitions, cataloging, or electronic resources or other related academic library experience.
- Experience with an integrated library system at an academic library.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EBSCO Folio integrated library system.
- Familiarity with RDA, AACR2, and MARC cataloging standards.
- Experience using OCLC Collection Management Services.
- Experience with electronic resources usage statistics standards and protocols.
Salary/Benefits
This is a twelve-month tenure-track appointment with faculty rank at the Assistant/Associate Professor level reporting to the Library Dean. Salary will reflect the successful candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. Benefits include a choice of health and retirement plans, tuition waiver for self, and partial tuition waivers for dependents. Anticipated salary of $49,000-$54,000, depending on education and experience
