Detailed Job Description
Position: Core Certification Case Processor
Reports To: Assistant Director Core Processing or Coordinator of Core Processing
Basic Function:
Responsible for processing academic and amateurism certification decisions for prospective student-athletes in a timely and accurate manner.
Hours: Hours vary by season. Staff are required to meet a weekly minimum hour requirement. Normal business working hours 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday, with extended hours including possible weekend hours during peak inventory periods. Mandatory 35 – 40 hrs/week in summer months (June-August).
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Analyze prospective student-athlete high school transcripts.
2. Execute data entry tasks per Eligibility Center and NCAA policies and procedures.
3. Identify irregularities within prospective student-athletes’ academic records as prescribed by Eligibility Center and NCAA policies and procedures and communicate those irregularities to assistant director and/or coordinator.
4. Gather relevant information and documentation from individuals and organizations with a nexus to the pre-enrollment athletics environment.
5. Conduct online research in accordance with approved protocols.
6. Apply NCAA Divisions I and II amateurism legislation to a factual record.
7.Perform quality control reviews.
8. Maintain security of confidential documents, information and database.
9. Must work the minimum hours each week as set forth by the Associate Director of Core Processing.
Minimum Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Strong computer skills, specifically 10-key proficiency, word processing and data entry. 3. Proficient reading comprehension, memorization and application of content.
4. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
5. Proficient with online research. 5. Ability to fulfill job duties without direct supervision. 6. Attention to detail.
7. Ability to conduct oneself in a manner that promotes a professional and productive working environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelors or advanced degree.
2. Experience or familiarity working with high school transcripts.
3. Strong written communication skills.
4. Basic knowledge of NCAA legislation.
