MOORESVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY: Director of Youth Services (Full-Time) Description/Responsibilities: An award winning library seeks a creative, enthusiastic, service-oriented individual to lead a department team of three who share a passion and desire for providing and encouraging youth programming and library services. The qualified candidate must have early literacy development skills, knowledge, and experience, as well as patience, enthusiasm, and outstanding communication skills, with a strong desire to encourage youth and their caregivers in exploration and nurturing a love of reading! The library has a strong youth programming foundation and presence within our community; offering weekly in- house programs, outreach, and collaboration with area daycares, public and private schools, youth organizations, and home-school groups. We have redirected our in-house programming to virtual programming, thus proficiency and adept understanding of social media, streaming and recording is essential. The full-time, 40-hour a week position, requires some evenings and Saturday hours, flexibility is required. It is home of the Indiana State Flag, excellent schools, parks and recreation, and the 2004 ILF Outstanding Indiana Library. Qualifications: Graduate level library degree from an A.L.A. accredited school (MLS), Librarian Certificate 2 [LC2] or soon to earn MLS and experience with or desire to lead children’s programming. Preferred: Professional library experience with some supervisory, management, and/or administrative level or the desire to take this opportunity to expand your skills. Salary: Compensation based on qualifications and experience, the salary range is $32,000-$35,000. 80% of healthcare is paid by library, PERF, PTO accumulated per pay period.
