Position Summary:
Under general guidance of the CBLC Special Collections Librarian, the CBLC Multimedia Project Manager will work to support the objectives of the CBLC in the areas of multi-media content development and programming by managing the development and implementation of the Phase II multi media kiosks and the associated web presence. This will include attending meetings, initiating communications, tracking budgets, working with outside vendors, as well as writing and researching content and securing permissions where necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains and adjusts project plans and manages progress of CBLC Phase II
- Coordinates with internal groups and work-stream leaders to confirm project delivery timelines and resource allocations to ensure project is on-track
- Creates and secures digital and physical content for interactive displays
- Assists Special Collections Librarian with developing service plans and programs targeted for the community served by Phase II;
- With guidance of Special Collections Librarian, conducts community outreach, seeks and assesses opportunities for library services or partnerships related to Phase II
- Promotes library use and services through presentations, participation in community events, communications and publicity distributions as related to Phase II
- Assist in collection and analysis of data on library use, services, trends and community resources related to the Phase II development
- Able to work the normally scheduled time for this position
- Able to cope with job related stress

Qualifications:
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree (required); Master’s Degree in Library Science (preferred)
- Have 1 to 3 years of work experience in multimedia production
- Have 1 to 3 years of project management work experience
- Possess knowledge of African and/or African American Literature and/or culture
- Have excellent presentation/public speaking skills and the ability to work well with other departments
Environment and Overall Physical Demands:
- Office Environment
- Position requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling of twenty-five pounds or less in equipment, reaching, kneeling, bending and twisting
- Position requires occasional handling of ten pounds or less in paperwork/monies and climbing
- Position requires constant use of fine dexterity, vision, hearing and talking
