Susan DeMaine (IU McKinney Law faculty), Benjamin Keele (LIS and IU McKinney Law faculty), and Hannah Alcasid (LIS student and IU McKinney Law staff) were honored for best poster presentation at the American Association of Law Libraries annual conference in Washington, D.C. this week. The poster, entitled Stepping up Access to the Indiana Code: Partnering for Increased Access and Preservation, outlines Ruth Lilly Law Library’s initiative to digitize the complete Indiana Code and their partnership with the Center for Digital Scholarship at IUPUI University Library to accomplish it. The most complete collections of the Code (1990s to present) are only available through subscription databases. And only 2009 to the present are freely available on the Indiana General Assembly website. The end goal is an open access collection of Indiana laws, spanning from the early 1800s to the present.
