New Publication Alert!
We took a look at highly myopic eyes (<-6.50D) while wearing single vision and dual focus lenses for myopia control. We found:
- Accommodative behavior was not significantly different in highly myopic eyes wearing single vision or dual focus lenses, however accommodative lags at near were larger for the more myopic eyes.
- Increased accommodative lags and more pro-late retinas of highly myopic eyes, when compared to less myopic eyes, reduced the amount of myopic retinal defocus introduced by a dual focus myopia control lens.
- The power of the treatment optical zones of the dual focus lenses generated the combined effect of reducing hyperopic retinal defocus in combination with introducing myopic retinal defocus.
Thank you so much to the CORL team for all of your help with this project, as well as all of our wonderful research participants!
