Summer is almost over, and you are probably thinking about returning to your hectic academic schedule. Summer is a great time to take vacations, rest, and enjoy time with family and friends. However, summer moves quickly and the anticipation for the academic year creeps up quickly!
It can be easy to neglect self-care and move at a fast pace to prepare for the start of the semester. Instructors have to prepare for classes and refine their methods on how to interact with students. Sound familiar? No worries, the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) is here to help!
This Fall 2023, our Equity and Inclusion Specialist, Da’Ja’ Askew will be facilitating a learning community for graduate students titled: “Caring for Yourself as an Instructor: Applying Rest in the Classroom.” This learning community is for graduate student associate instructors who wish to learn about self-care, rest, and work-life balance and how to apply these concepts in the classroom and cultivate healthy spaces for themselves and their students.
Additionally, there are several other learning communities being offered this upcoming semester that would be advantageous for instructors.
Learn more and apply to a learning community here. Applications are due on August 28th! Enjoy the remainder of the summer!
