Part one of the aloe plant project was a big hit!
We received a total of 87 submissions from both the social media comments and from physical submissions in a ballot box at the music library. After conferring with some of my music library peers, we chose our top favorite submissions and announced them at the beginning of this week.
Part II of the aloe plant naming competition includes a poll which allows for patrons of the music library to select their favorite name from the top submissions, of which we will announce the winner at the end of the week.
Again, this competition was strategized to give our patrons some non-stressful participation in our library as they prepare for their finals, hopefully alleviating some of their stress. It has been fun to see it work, and the hear the conversations had about the competition not only in our library, but from librarians across campus.
