Kelley School of Business Entrepreneurship Certificate
The Kelley School of Business has offered an Entrepreneurship Certificate to degree-seeking, non-Kelley School of Business students since summer 2012. The Certificate is a wonderful opportunity for students with an interest in Entrepreneurship to earn a Certificate through the Kelley School. However, we understand that the requirements for the Certificate and how to apply for the Certificate have been a bit vague. Thus, we are officially “relaunching” the Entrepreneurship Certificate.
- The Entrepreneurship Certificate requirements are now clearly outlined in the Kelley Undergraduate Bulletin. Your eyes are not deceiving you; K201 is not required.
- For students interested in the Entrepreneurship Certificate, they will complete a very simple Entrepreneurship Certificate Application.
- We are working on making updates to the AAR and hope have those done soon.
For questions about the Entrepreneurship Certificate, you can direct students to the Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.

COMAP’s MCM/ICM Math Modeling Contest
MCM/ICM Math Modeling Contest February 16-20, 2023
COMAP’s Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) and Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM) kicks off in just over a month. These are international contests open to undergraduate students of all disciplines.
The MCM/ICM contest problems are designed to provide students with the opportunity to work as team members to engage in and improve their modeling, problem-solving, and writing skills. Teams from your school apply mathematics to model and develop a solution to a real-world problem.

Synthetic Biology Summer Undergraduate Research Experience
The Northwestern Center for Synthetic Biology is now accepting applications for the 2023 Synthetic Biology Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SynBREU). Please help us spread the word to all interested undergraduates in your network, and particularly to all students from minority and underprivileged backgrounds and at schools with limited research opportunities. Applications and one letter of recommendation are due by Jan. 31, 2023. For full information and a link to the application, please visit our website, synbreu.northwestern.edu.
Nuclear and Radiochemistry Summer School
We are seeking curious and highly motivated students with strong science backgrounds to participate in the prestigious Department of Energy and American Chemical Society sponsored Nuclear and Radiochemistry Summer Schools (NCSS).The students receive an all-expense paid opportunity to complete a 6-week summer course (June 12, 2023 – July 21, 2023) in Nuclear Chemistry and Radiochemistry in either California at San Jose State University or New York at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Students also earn hours (tuition paid) of undergraduate chemistry credit through either San Jose State University or Stony Brook University (The State University of New York). Selected students also receive a stipend of $4,000 for the 6-week program.
The students will learn the fundamentals of nuclear chemistry and radiochemistry and their applications. A hands-on laboratory component gives the students experience in handling radioactive materials and radiation detectors. The students will meet scientists from academia, national laboratories, and industry from across the U.S. who will discuss the exciting opportunities in nuclear chemistry and radiochemistry.
The on-line application form can be found on the web at:

Electrochemical Technology Master’s Internship Program
We are looking for motivated seniors in chemistry, physics, materials science, chemical engineering, and other related fields, for our recently launched Masters program in Electrochemical Technology. In Fall 2023 we will be welcoming our fourth cohort. We have found many new graduates are looking for ways to be involved in the clean-energy transition. Our program has been highly effective at placing students into related industries. Our 2022 cohort have accepted job offers from Boeing, Cuberg, ESS, HRL, NEL Hydrogen, NREL, Nuvera Fuel Cells, Sila Nanotechnologies, Twelve, and QuantumScape, EnZinc, among others, with average compensation >$82,000 / year.
Students in our program complete 6 months of integrated electrochemistry science and engineering coursework and laboratories followed by a 9 month paid internship selected by the student. Details about the curriculum and application process are available at our website: https://electrochemistry.uoregon.edu/masters-internship-program/ .
We are happy to waive the application fee for interested students with a qualified background in science and engineering. Please send a pre-application described at https://electrochemistry.uoregon.edu/masters-internship-program/application-process/ to electrochemistry@uoregon.edu to receive a fee-waiver for the formal application process.
Priority deadline for applications is February 15th, however rolling admissions will continue until the cohort is filled.
