I’m reaching out again to see if you’d be willing to share some information with your chemists at Indiana University about our growing Electrochemistry Master’s Internship Program here at the University of Oregon.
Our model is unique in that electrochemistry is rarely taught in an integrated degree program and our students complete their degree in a paid internship with one of our 40 industry partners in electrochemical science and technology. Over the first three years of the program, this has proven to be a fast and effective route for scientists and engineers looking to launch a career in clean energy (batteries, hydrogen, fuel cells) or advanced manufacturing (semiconductors, plating, metals production). https://electrochemistry.uoregon.edu/masters-internship-program-flyer/
I’m very proud of our recent class of 2024, who just finished their internships at companies like Sila Nanotechnologies, De Nora, Nuvera Fuel Cells, Twelve, and Chemours where they earned an average annualized salary of >$80,000. We’ve found that many chemists are looking for careers in cleantech and sustainable energy and I’m hopeful at least one student in your program might find our coursework to be the right fit for their career goals. We’d be delighted to see some soon-to-be graduates from Indiana University in our applicants for the class of 2025, starting this September!
I’d be happy to waive our application fee for any students who seem like they’d be a good fit. Please tell them to send a resume and unofficial transcript directly to pkempler@uoregon.edu before applying.
