Hi everyone! We hope your semester is starting off well! Science Looks Good on Anyone (SLGA) is a club for undergraduate and graduate students of all backgrounds who are interested in science or science education. The club focuses on mentorship and encouraging interest in STEM fields. We have lots of fun events on campus and a spring program at Bloomington North High School leading hands-on labs. No background or experience required, everyone is welcome! To learn more or join, please email slga.iu2023@gmail.com or join on BeInvolved. We’d love to hear from you!
To get an idea of what SLGA has planned this semester, come to our first event, a Pizza and Game Night and talk to members in the club about how to get involved! The Pizza and Game Night will be on September 26th at 5 PM in the Club Hub in the IMU. If you’re interested, please RSVP so we know how much pizza to buy. To get there, you can enter the IMU from the Whittenberger Entrance (39°10’02.8″N 86°31’23.0″W), and it’s the first door on the right in the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. We’ll have a variety of board games that you can play with your friends or make some new ones!
SLGA also has a ton of other exciting things planned for this year! We’ll have a guest speaker in November and an end-of-semester trivia event as well as lots of events in the Spring semester. There’s no commitment to attend any or all events by joining, just attend what sounds interesting to you, but joining will help you stay informed on what the club is doing.
