PASS Program Assistant Instructor
Groups Scholars Program
Primary Role:
The PASS (Peer Assisted Study Session) Program Assistant Instructors report directly to the Groups Scholars Program’s Math Tutoring Coordinator. As a PASS Program Assistant Instructor, employee will provide supplemental instruction and learning tools to students enrolled in entry level Math J010 or Chemistry C103 class during the Groups Scholars Program Summer Experience Program.
Weekly hours:
15-20 hours per week. Flexible. Schedules coincide with the Summer Experience Program class schedules and PASS Sessions. Hours of work are flexible for lesson planning but should not exceed 29-hrs per week across all positions of employment held with Indiana University.
Compensation:
$14 per hour (Possibly higher this year)
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Attend the PASS Program training sessions and staff meetings
- Observe daily Math J010, Math M106, Chemistry C103, or Business K160 class as assigned.
- Create lesson plans and provide supplemental materials to assist Groups participants need for success.
- Schedule and lead Peer Assisted Study Sessions, track attendance and participation.
- Assess and monitor academic progress of participants within study sessions.
- Participate in analysis and data collection regarding the success of the program
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Applicant has at least one year of college with a grade of A or B in Math J111, J112, and/or Chemistry C103
