Seeking a student to assist with organizing archive samples for testing. This will require going through a spreadsheet locating where in our storage freezers samples are, retrieving them, and re-organizing them to be sent out. This work requires extreme attention to detail, as there are thousands of samples in storage to sort through. You will also be required to work in a timely manner, as all samples are frozen and must remain that way while working.
The ideal candidate would have:
–Prior lab experience (preferred but not required)
-Completed the following trainings (if not done, are required to be completed before working—but will be paid to complete them):
Biosafety Training
NIH Recombinant DNA Guidelines
Bloodborne Pathogens Training
–Excellent time management
–Highly organized
This position pays $16.50/hour. Work will be at the Innovation Center (IC) at 10th & the bypass. Students have to pay to park if they are driving to the IC, therefore the pay rate of $16.50 is higher than usual to cover this cost. Hours will be approximately 10-20 per week, depending on student’s schedule. Students cannot work more than 29 hours across all IU jobs.
