We are currently accepting applications from current undergraduate students to our Michigan Chemistry Opportunities for Research and Education (M|CORE) free preview on-campus visit.
This year’s program will be held in person on November 7-9, 2022.
The M|CORE visit is an opportunity for students to preview the Michigan experience by connecting with our Department of Chemistry as part of a group of approximately 20 qualified prospective Chemistry graduate students.
Our M|CORE participants will:
- Travel to University of Michigan for two nights; travel, meals, and lodging included
- Meet faculty and current graduate students
- Hear research presentations by current chemistry grad students
- Tour our cutting-edge research facilities and the University campus
- Get valuable advice on how to assemble a competitive graduate school application
For more details, please visit the program’s webpage at M|CORE Program | UM LSA Chemistry.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or undocumented students with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) and applicants must be students with junior or senior status who will graduate no later than spring 2024. The selection process will pattern the eligibility guidelines for the Rackham Merit Fellowship program. The students can apply directly online; applications are currently being accepted. An optional information session for those interested in learning more about M-Core will be held on September 09, 2022 from 3-4 pm eastern time. Please email mcore.chem@umich.edu with any questions about the program or to request a Zoom link for the information session.
