The Minor in Communication & Public Advocacy, in the English Department, has been designed specifically to give students opportunities to develop important communication skills in an engaging context, including skills in writing, speaking, researching, critical thinking, and crafting effective arguments.
This Minor is designed to complement any Major, offered by any school or college on campus. The Minor consists of a total of five courses, at least three of which must be at the 300-level, selected from a list of approved courses. There are no prerequisites, and students are encouraged to begin taking classes within the Minor at any level.

Note that several of these courses satisfy CASE Intensive Writing requirements, or other CASE or GenEd requirements.
Last year we were able to give out over $8000 in scholarships! To be eligible for the scholarships, students must meet with our marvelous English Department Undergraduate Advisor, Shauna Melvin ( shmelvin@iu.edu ), to officially declare their intention to pursue the Minor in Communication & Public Advocacy
