The O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs’ Master’s Programs Office will be holding an event for current Indiana University undergraduate students who are thinking about graduate school options. The event will be taking place on Thursday, October 28th, from 6:30-8:30 pm in O’Neill BLPV 169!

Here are brief descriptions of each of our programs:
Master of Public Affairs- MPA
The MPA program prepares students to address and tackle some of society’s most pressing problems. It prepares graduate students for a wide range of careers, whether in the public, private, or nonprofit sector. This degree is customizable and includes individuals from many different academic backgrounds. This degree typically takes only 2 years, or 48 credit hours, to complete. Our MPA program is currently ranked #2 in the nation.
Master of Science in Environmental Science- MSES
The MSES program trains graduates to become environmental professionals. Graduates leave fully equipped to tackle pressing environmental problems facing society today. This program is one of the oldest programs of its kind in the country. This degree typically takes only 2 years, or 48 credit hours, to complete.
Master of Environmental Sustainability- MES
The MES program trains students for careers in promoting sustainable practices in the public, private, or nonprofit sector. Graduates gain an in-depth understanding of sustainability-oriented management. This degree is an accelerated 1-year master’s program, taking 36 hours to complete.
Master of Arts in Arts Administration- MAAA
The MAAA program prepares graduates to lead arts organizations. Graduates gain expertise in arts management and cultural policy while also completing a 280-hour internship with an organization of their choosing. This degree typically takes only 1.5 – 2 years, or 45 credit hours, to complete.
Master of Science in Healthcare Management- MSHM
The MSHM program prepares graduates to work as innovative leaders in the healthcare industry. Some students go on to medical school after completing their MSHM. This degree typically takes 1 year to complete and begins in the summer. It requires 36 credit hours and includes two semesters of leadership experience in a Healthcare organization catered to the student’s goals.
Master of International Affairs- MIA
The MIA program prepares graduates for many careers in the global marketplace. Graduates leave well-equipped to work in a wide range of careers, including ones at the governmental level, nongovernmental organizations, nonprofits, and private sector organizations with international reach. This program typically takes 1 year, or 36 credit hours, to complete.
