- Professor John V. Goodpaster has been promoted to the rank of Full Professor.
- Dr. Brenda Blacklock has been promoted to the rank of Teaching Professor – the first teaching professor in the Department.
- The following two positions have been newly created in the department:
- Ms. Marie Nguyen has been appointed as the Assistant Chair of Teaching.
- Professor Eric C. Long has been appointed as the Assistant Chair of Scholarly Initiatives.
- Professor Partha Basu was reappointed as the Chair of the Department for another three years.
