In April, IUPUI chemistry faculty member Nick Manicke was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor with tenure. His tenure was approved by the Indiana University Board of Trustees on April 5, followed by his promotion to Associate Professor approved through the Purdue University Board of Trustees on April 12.
Manicke joined the IUPUI faculty in August 2013. Before coming to IUPUI Manicke received his Ph.D. through Purdue University, West Lafayette where he stayed for his postdoctoral studies. Manicke’s research focuses on analytical chemistry; his group works primarily with developing novel mass spectrometry methods to solve difficult problems in clinical chemistry, forensics, and homeland security.
Manicke teaches courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level focusing on instrumental analysis of chemical evidence such as drugs, gunshot residue and fibers.
