Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are providing the remote sensing community with a new perspective on image acquisition
Dan Johnson Ph.D. (IUPUI Geography) and Jeremy Webber (CEES) recently presented “Potential Applications of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Avenues for Research and Collaboration” at the February Indiana Silver Jackets meeting. The presentation gave a general overview of remote sensing research talking place at IUPUI and how UAVs can be utilized to enhance these efforts.

CEES iMovie Presentation
For the past two weeks, fellow intern Keri and I have been creating an online viewable version of the classroom-based CEES Presentation through the use of iMovie. After many hours of learning to work iMovie (neither of us are MAC people) we created a work of informational art!
Amur Honeysuckle: Why We Care
Many CEES service learning events are centered around the removal of invasive species. One species we remove particularly often is Amur Honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii). Since 2010, CEES has facilitated service learning events for over 880 IUPUI students specifically to remove Amur Honeysuckle, totaling over 3800 hours of environmental restoration service.
New Partnership: Marian University Nina Mason Pulliam EcoLab
CEES is excited for our first-time service learning partnership with the Nina Mason Pulliam (NMP) EcoLab at Marian University for environmental service learning events. The NMP EcoLab is a 55-acre, restored, natural area on the campus of Marian University.
