IUPUI Weeks of Welcome: Restoring Greenways Inaugural Trail Walk
The Center for Earth and Environmental Science invites students, faculty, and staff to join the inaugural trail walk of the Welcoming Campus Trail (WCT), which will take place during IUPUI’s Weeks of Welcome.
The WCT is a project that is being developed as part of the Center’s Welcoming Campus Innovators grant, Restoring Greenways – Connecting Communities.
Located along the western edge of campus, the WCT loops the White River between 10th Street and the Washington Street pedestrian bridge, and includes upper and lower sections. The upper section of the trail is paved sidewalk and is ADA accessible; the lower section, which runs along the base of the levee on the eastern bank of the river, is mostly hard-packed gravel (there are a few drainage channels filled with large stones).
When fully completed, users of the WCT will be able to access an interactive web site that will provide a trail map and information about various points of interest along the trail. You never know what you may see along the river!
