In May of 2016, a generous $400,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation permitted CEES to begin designing and building a mobile lab equipped with a variety of renewable energy technology. One year later, the new – as yet unnamed – unit made its debut at Brownsburg East Middle School.
To showcase the capabilities of the mobile lab, CEES is expanding its DSE program to include energy content. New program material includes such topics as renewable energy (with specific programs focusing on renewable energy broadly or on specific types of renewable energy, such as solar, wind, etc.), energy conservation, energy flow through ecosystems, and the energy of storms.
