We are pleased to welcome Indiana University School of Education Ph.D. student, Jenna Gatzke, to our DSE International Team! Jenna will be coordinating communication and education activities among network partners.
After Jenna completed her B.A. from Central Michigan University in Earth Sciences, Geography, French, and Dance in 2003, she worked as a naturalist at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Jenna completed her M.S. in Environmental Education and Interpretation from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point in 2010. She then spent two years working with AmeriCorps; first as an environmental educator with the Grand Traverse Conservation District in Michigan and second as an education specialist at the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary in Hawaii. Jenna has also worked at the Hawaii Nature Center and at Jefferson Elementary School in Waikiki developing their first environmental education program. Currently, she is a doctoral student at Indiana University Bloomington specializing in environmental and science education. Jenna’s passion for the field and her love of travel has led her to Europe, South America, Asia, the Caribbean, Australia, as well as working and studying on several occasions throughout the African continent.
