Service Learning participants will help prepare a vacant lot on Indy’s near eastside for the creation of a thriving fruit and vegetable garden.
The service-learning event associated with the project is one work day when we will be performing site clean up and laying out garden beds. The goals of this project include fostering community health, increasing access to fresh produce, and increasing the overall quality of this urban environment.
Dr. Pamela Martin’s senior/graduate level class, Feeding the City, has partnered with the Englewood Community Development Corporation to help establish this garden in the near eastside neighborhood.
