A junior marketing major at Indiana University, Paul Notarangelo works as a student supervisor in the Wright Food Court. His daily duties include checking the temperatures of food, stocking necessary items, and supervising a team of student employees. An important skill Paul has learned and continues to practice in this position is positive communication. He has realized that it is important to have positive interactions not only with customers, but also with co-workers. As Paul puts it, “It’s about finding ways to make people do stuff—but at the same time wanting them to be happy about their job.” He considers it his responsibility to create a cohesive and high-quality working environment at the Food Court. In the future, Paul aspires to work for a marketing firm in Israel. To become a successful marketing professional, he plans to utilize the strong communication skills he has gained through his position as a Student Supervisor.
