What do you like about your job? I like that at this job, I am learning a variety of things that will transfer into my future career. I have only been working for a little over a month and I have already been given 4 completely different projects. The experience I am gaining from this internship is my favorite part.
What transferable skills are you gaining? Personal Development, Complex Problem Solving & Complex Thinking, Multi-Tasking, Judgement & Decision Making, Organizational skills, Interpersonal skills, Planning
Why do you suggest other students get part-time jobs while at school? Having a job while in school helps tremendously with time-management. It also helps build professional skills, which are necessary for after graduation.
Any other thoughts? Having a job while in school, especially if the job is related to your major, is extremely helpful in guiding your interests. I have yet to decide what kind of position I want to hold within a nonprofit organization, but after I receive one whole year of experience working in one, I may have a better idea of what I am the most interested in.
Post-graduation Plans: I want to work in a non-profit organization that has a mission focused on bettering the lives of children.
