Hello, hello, IU! The third #TipTuesday of the year comes to us from Stone Belt Arc, Inc.! And let us tell ya, their advice is pretty dang good.
- When interviewing, provide specific examples of how your skills could add VALUE to the organization.
Every business is a results business and determining how you could drive positive results will separate you from the rest. - Come dressed to an interview for a position 2-3 levels above the one you are there for.
Overdressing is not nearly as big of a problem as under-dressing. - Don’t small talk, SMART TALK!
Do your research and figure out what you can about the person you are meeting. Appeal to their interests, be conversational, but don’t let it overtake the actual interview. We enjoy getting to know the candidates, but we also have LOTS to do after the interview.
And there you have it! Three great tips to help you win at the interview-game! Stone Belt Arc, Inc. is a great company devoted to “preparing, empowering and supporting individuals with disabilities.” Learn more about them here!
