What is your name / job title?
Daniel Carver – Group Manager, Southern Indiana
Did you have a part-time job as a student?
Yes. I worked for several years in fast food and construction. Looking back on my time working during college, neither of these jobs prepared me for my career. This is why I recruit large amounts of college students. Not only for the success of our business, but to give them skills and abilities they can carry with them in future careers. Hopefully with BioLife or bigger Takeda! I believe the medical aspect of what we do, combined with a manufacturing data driven approach, makes us a great employer for medical, business, and engineering students looking to see how a diverse business operates.
Were you involved with any extra-curricular activities during college?
Yes. I have an Industrial Technology degree within the School of Business. There was a Packaging Club that I was involved with which analyzed different aspects of packaging goods to minimize breakage during shipment over different road conditions and lengths of travel.
What is your #1 career tip you would like to share with college students?
Be open minded and flexible in where your career takes you. Many students, have a vision of where they want to go and what they want to do or achieve. However, as opportunities present, do not limit yourself. Be open to what can come from them.
