What if I already know my major or career? What are other ways my career coach can help me?
That is great news! If you already know your major or career interests, your career coach can provide resources and knowledge to start building experience in those areas which is an important part of the career development process. Future employers and professional schools will be looking for experience you’ve gained within your career and major interests. Your career coach can help you explore and build well balanced experiences that will not only help you in the future but also aid you with exploring your career right now. In addition, your career coach can guide you through:
- Strategies and resources for expanding your professional network.
- Part-time job search strategies
- Internship search strategies
- Self-assessment (MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory, SkillScan, Life Values Inventory)
- Preparing competitive resumes and cover letters
- How to prepare for graduate school
