Hello, Hoosiers!
By now we’re sure you’ve seen our posters and posts about the 2017 Summer Job & Internships Fair and you may be asking yourself: what is this fair?
At this fair, national and local employers gather in Alumni Hall to recruit students looking for summer jobs and internships. These employers range from Apple to the Bloomington Parks & Recreation Department! These employers are looking for students who are eager to learn as well as those who make themselves stand out.
How to prepare for a (career) fair:
- Have a well-practice elevator pitch
- Come prepared to give out multiple, printed copies of a polished and professional resume using a variety of creative skill verbs to showcase your abilities
- Be sure to wear appropriate attire (business or business casual)
- Make sure to research the organizations you are interested in BEFORE attending (list of employers attending this year’s fair here)
- Express your desire and passion for the company/organization’s recruiter you are speaking with
- Think about practice interviewing with a friend or visit the CDC for a mock-interview
