Joseph Hunt is a senior majoring in Finance and Sustainable Business. He also is minoring in Psychology. He is one of CDC’s very own employees, working as a Front Desk Associate. He enjoys his job and loves helping others. He tries to brighten up the waiting area “with positivity in order to make the small interaction[s] enjoyable and maybe even [create] a little bright spot in their day.”
While working this job, Joseph has picked up a few skills that he believes will help him in the long run. Especially with any job he encounters that can help him in his dream job post-graduation.
He wants to utilize the skills he has gained from both his degree and from his job allowing him to “take on the analyzation of ‘green’ projects and push for their approval while making [it financially feasible].”
Teamwork, active listening, communication, relationship management, social perceptiveness, and service orientation (among others) were a few of the skills he noted as important to master during his time at the CDC.
Joseph said that employers will be looking for these skills and that they all go hand in hand with each other. He has gained a lot of experience while working here at the CDC and is very confident that he will be able to apply them to further endeavors.
After graduation, Joseph hopes to find a position in his field out in Colorado. With his confidence and positive outlook on his experience and education, we’re sure he’ll make it out there! Good luck!
